Porto Cervo, 5 febbraio 2025 – Il Consorzio Costa Smeralda e Smeralda Holding ricordano con commozione Sua Altezza Principe Karim Aga Khan ed esprimono alla Principessa Zahra e a tutta la famiglia le più sentite e affettuose condoglianze.</p>
Fondatore e padre della Costa Smeralda, grazie alla sua straordinaria visione e al suo grande amore per il territorio, Karim Aga Khan ha costruito un modello turistico che è diventato famoso nel mondo: un sistema che ha determinato un cambiamento di sviluppo sociale ed economico dell’intera comunità, lasciando un segno indelebile nella storia di Arzachena, della Gallura e della Sardegna intera.
A fine degli anni ’50, a soli vent’anni, concepì un progetto illuminato e il 14 marzo 1962 inaugurò Porto Cervo, che si è affermato uno dei centri turistici più importanti del mondo, così come è tutt’ora.
Dal nulla, grazie alla sinergica attività con tutte le Istituzioni, il territorio, preservandone le sue bellezze, è stato dotato di tutte le infrastrutture necessarie per rendere la Costa Smeralda meta di sogno di tutti i turisti del mondo.
Il Consorzio Costa Smeralda e Smeralda Holding hanno assunto e quotidianamente vivono l’impegno di proseguire nel solco tracciato dall’Aga Khan.

Porto Cervo, 5 February 2025 – The Costa Smeralda Consortium and Smeralda Holding fondly celebrates the memory of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, and offers Princess Zahra and the entire family its most heartfelt and profound condolences.
With his extraordinary vision and his immense love for the area, Karim Aga Khan, the founder and creator of the Costa Smeralda, built a model of tourism that has gained international fame; a system that has led to social and economic change for the entire community, and that represents an important chapter in the history of Arzachena, Gallura and the entire Sardinian region.
At the end of the Fifties, when he was little more than twenty, he conceived an enlightened plan, and 14 March 1962 saw the inauguration of Porto Cervo, which soon became one of the most significant tourist destinations in the world, a role that it continues to maintain to this day.
Created from scratch, with the active collaboration of all the institutions, the community was provided with all the infrastructure required to render the Costa Smeralda a dream destination for travellers from all over the world, while at the same time preserving the beauty of the area.
The Costa Smeralda Consortium and Smeralda Holding have embraced the commitment to continue, with its constant efforts, to carry forward all that the Aga Khan set in motion.
