The program of English language courses promoted by Smeralda Holding – a company of the Qatar Holding Group – for the local community.
Starting from 23 October 2017, 130 residents in the Municipalities of Arzachena and Olbia – employed or unemployed adults – will be able to take part in the 50-hour intensive courses that will take place at the Cervo Porto Cervo Tennis Club up to 19 December 2017 . The seats will be assigned according to the chronological order of registration and the deadline for submitting the request is October 18, 2017 .
Also this year there will be 6 teaching programs divided by levels (basic, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, advanced and advanced intermediate) and the participants’ incoming language skills will be evaluated through a level. The registration fee is € 15 per person, all other costs, including teaching materials, are borne by Smeralda Holding. At the end of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued.
The courses, organized in collaboration with The English School, are held by qualified mother tongue teachers and in possession of the teaching access titles. The English School is an authorized exam center at Trinity College of London, an institution accredited by the Ministry of Education.
The “Sardinia English Academy” is enriched and improved from year to year thanks to the valuable comparison with all the participants who took part in previous editions: from 2014, the year of launching the initiative, there were about 400 students trained , from tour operators, to employees in offices and banks, professionals, sales clerks, students and unemployed (around 20%). The initiative is part of the activities that Smeralda Holding and its property address to the local community in order to enhance people and their professionalism, support the growth of the territory and promote local employment.
