SMERALDA HOLDING: THE LAUNCH OF THE 2025 EDITION OF THE WATERFRONT INTERNATIONAL BRANDS, ART, MUSIC AND UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

Located in the heart of Porto Cervo, the Waterfront is a space that offers all-round experiences, with a blend of emotion, discovery, beauty and sustainability.

 

The language of art is combined with a commitment to the environment for the “Art for Blue” project:

the charity auction created by Smeralda Holding in collaboration with Deodato Arte.

 

 

Porto Cervo, 28 June 2025 – Smeralda Holding has announced the reopening to the public of Waterfront Costa Smeralda 2025, the meeting point and central focus for guests and visitors to the Costa Smeralda that, from Saturday 28 June, will be welcoming guests and tourists for an edition with a wealth of new features.

Situated in the setting of the Old Port in Porto Cervo and curated as usual by Filmmaster – one of the leading Italian organisations for the created and production of large-scale events – on behalf of the Smeralda Holding Group, a company indirectly owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, the Waterfront presents a carefully curated selection of the best international high-fashion, design and accessory brands, offering a range of activities from shopping to art, as well as beautiful lounge bars and green areas that render the stay for its many guests even more enjoyable. The area, which is accessible every day until 7 September, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., is ready to welcome visitors from all over the world, underscoring the role of the Costa Smeralda as a top destination and a symbol of high-level entertainment.

We see the supporting of the reforestation of Posidonia in Cala di Volpe as a practical step towards a more informed and responsible model of development, increasingly focused on the environmental sustainability of the community that we have the privilege of celebrating and the duty to protect”.

While previous editions successfully focused on the theme of nature, drawing inspiration from the elements and features of Sardinia, this year, the Waterfront Costa Smeralda has been transformed into a space for experiences, where the 9 showcase capsules, the characteristic “PODs”, designed by the architect Gio Pagani on behalf of Smeralda Holding, have become offer dynamic and immersive venues created to offer guests an authentic and captivating time. The focus for 2025 is on human experience, and in particular on art and music. Thanks to the collaboration with Deodato Arte, which was launched with the first edition, a series of original works of pop- and street-art by important contemporary artists are displayed in various areas of the Waterfront, accompanied by verses from famous pop songs, as part of the “Pop Art Loves Pop Music” format, which fosters a rich dialogue between these two complementary forms of artistic expression, in an exciting pairing that encourages sharing and interaction.

Other new features for the 2025 edition include the arrival of new prestigious brands that enhance the offering of the temporary mall: the new entry Hedley Studios, specialized in scaled recreations of world-renowned classic cars that are fully drivable automotive works of arts, and Kiton, a leader in the luxury made-to-measure and  prêt-à-porter fashion world.

Deodato Arte returns for the seventh consecutive year, exhibiting both inside and outside the PODs with original Pop and Street art by the most renowned artists of international fame such as Mr. Brainwash, Romero Britto, Takashi Murakami, Banksy, Mr. Savethewall, Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol and TvBoy.

The brands that have reconfirmed their presence this year include the Ferretti Group, a leader in the design, construction and sale of luxury motorboats, with a range of prestigious brands that include Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, CRN, Custom Line and Wally. Wally, in particular, will be present on the quay with the innovative wallywhy150, the intermediate version from the wallywhy range, offering all the bold character of the brand and viewable by appointment. The Group will also be represented by Riva, with a Riva Boutique, an exclusive and prestigious collection of designer accessories and objects; unique items of rare beauty, characterised by excellence, artisan quality and attention to detail, and with a Riva Lounge, where all the elegant and comfortable furnishings reflect the typical characteristics of the celebrated boat brand, in line with the brand philosophy of celebrating Made-in-Italy quality in the nautical sector.

The Nikki Beach Cocktail Club, which has become an essential feature of the Waterfront Costa Smeralda, is a new and elegant destination with a strong focus on cocktails. An evolution of the Pop-Up Bar & Lounge Nikki Beach, the Cocktail Club is an open-air venue that is ideal for sunset aperitifs and memorable evenings.

Assoline, the prestigious New-York publishing house, returns, offering a selection of its fascinating collection of books, including the beautiful and sophisticated publication celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the Costa Smeralda and the Hotel Cala di Volpe.

Technogym will be one of the outstanding features of the Waterfront, with an exclusive pop-up store designed as a space for well-being experiences. The boutique will be offering daily training sessions with qualified coaches, specific workouts, private training sessions on yachts and the opportunity to explore and try the brand’s iconic products in a unique setting. An unmissable opportunity for yacht owners, international guests and lovers of well-being.

The 2025 edition will also see the return of the space dedicated to promoting the territory of the Municipality of Arzachena, with the POD hosting a photographic gallery of the most beautiful features of the destination, a selection of reproductions of objects from the “Michele Ruzittu” Civic Museum and an infopoint dedicated to the entire area.

Lastly, The new setup of the Costa Smeralda Boutique will be presenting the new collections with the Costa Smeralda brand for anyone looking for a souvenir of the destination: t-shirts, accessories, posters of the most famous locations and miniature versions of the iconic stone marking the entrance to the area, complete with the words “Costa Smeralda”.

The “Art for Blue” charity auction

“Art for Blue” is an initiative created by Smeralda Holding in collaboration with Deodato Arte, organised to bring together the language of art with the commitment for the environment. For the opening of the new season of the Waterfront Costa Smeralda, Smeralda Holding, which for years has been supporting organisations dedicated to protecting the ecosystem and the promotion of sustainable culture, has organised an auction with an exclusive work of art provided by Deodato Arte, with the proceeds going to the One Ocean Foundation* for the “Blue Forest” marine reforestation project in the bay of Cala di Volpe.

The Blue Forest at the Cala di Volpe project is aimed at protecting and restoring oceanic Posidonia, a marine plant that is fundamental for the health of the marine ecosystem. It produces oxygen, protects the beaches from erosion, is home to rich biodiversity and, above all, captures CO₂, contributing to mitigating climate change.

It is a practical project led by the One Ocean Foundation that aims to regenerate 80 hectares of seabed, thus becoming the largest project for the reforestation of oceanic Posidonia in the Mediterranean Sea, which Smeralda Holding is supporting, together with other partners such as Pirelli and for which the first phase was launched this year, with the aim of continuing promotion with awareness-raising campaigns and other similar initiatives.

 

Every phase – from the mapping of the seabed to the transplanting of Posidonia, as well as post-reforesting monitoring – is carried out with a scientific approach, thanks to collaboration with the University of Sassari and a network of technical and institutional partners.

Supporting the Blue Forest project organised by the One Ocean Foundation, which stands apart for its practical activities in the protecting of the ocean and its biodiversity, promoting knowledge, innovation and environmental awareness through scientific, educational and cultural projects, means making an active contribution to a more balanced future for humankind and nature, beginning with practical measures to protect our seas.

The auction for the work of art – which will be displayed throughout the summer in a showcase at the Waterfront – will take place on the online platform of Charity Stars (www.charitystars.com/panther), which can be accessed directly via the QR code on the display case.

The piece featured in the auction is Panther – Black, by Richard Orlinski, the most highly sought-after contemporary French artist in the world,

a resin sculpture, (95 x 42 x 21 cm) depicting a black panther, an emblem of strength and elegance that represents the style of the artist, who is known for his monumental pop-art works, expressions of art and design.

 

*The sum given to the One Ocean Foundation will be equal to 80% of the proceeds from the auction sale. The remaining 20% will be withheld by Charity Stars to cover the costs for the management of the auction.
