Smeralda Holding is promoting another initiative aimed at bringing the communities of Arzachena and Olbia closer to the world of sport, offering the use of its accommodation structures. In spring 2018, Smeralda Holding will open the doors of the prestigious Cervo Tennis & Padel Club of Porto Cervo with the first edition of the Tennis and Padel Courses for Beginners, completely free of charge for 130 residents from the municipalities of Arzachena and Olbia.
Anyone, regardless of their age, who would like to discover more about these sports, will have the opportunity to learn the rudiments of the games, form the correct way to hold the racket, to the correct positioning on the court, from the most efficient forehand and backhand shots, to the first matches.
Following the English courses organised by the Sardinia English Academy – now in its fifth edition, with a total of over 400 people taught – and the golf courses held at the Pevero Golf Club – launched for the first time this year, with excellent results in terms of turnout and reception – the Tennis and Padel Courses for Beginners enrich the wide-ranging programme of initiatives entitled “Smeralda Holding per il Territorio [Smeralda Holding for the Territory]”, through which the company owned by the Qatar Holing Group promotes activities aimed at promoting the growth of the community in which it operates, and at valorising people and their potential.
“Carrying out projects in support of the territory and its population – explained Mario Ferraro, CEO of Smeralda Holding – has always been an essential undertaking for Smeralda Holding.
Over the next few months, we will be following up on the initiatives which have already been successfully implemented, and we will continue to put into practice our proposals for residents with new activities for leisure, sports, and personal development. It is an indication of our dutiful attention towards those who live in this marvellous land and who contribute to making it like nowhere else in the world”.
It will be possible to apply for enrolment in the Tennis and Padel Courses for Beginners by contacting the Smeralda Holding organisational office. The 130 places available will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lessons will begin on Thursday 12 April and will end on Tuesday 12 June 2018.
The course will offer weekly group lesson of one hour each in length, programmed for Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. To take part in the courses, it is necessary to present a valid medical certificate for sporting activity.
Participation is completely free of charge: Smeralda Holding will cover all costs, including the Club enrolment fee.
