After having launched, last December, the new edition of language, tennis and golf courses for children and adults, the programme\u00a0<strong>\u201cSmeralda Holding for the community\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0has been further extended with a new project aimed at informing and raising awareness among citizens over a theme of fundamental importance for health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFree prevention weeks\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0have been programmed\u00a0<strong>from 17 January to 19 February<\/strong>, offering residents of Arzachena and Olbia the opportunity to have\u00a0<strong>free check-ups<\/strong>\u00a0in order to prevent the emergence of illnesses or identify\u00a0possible risk\u00a0factors, enabling behaviour and lifestyle to be duly modified.<\/p>\n<p>For a period of five weeks, from Monday to Saturday &#8211;\u00a0<strong>by booking from 12 January 2022<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; the check-ups will take place at the\u00a0<strong>consulting rooms of the Costa Smeralda Consortium Health Services in Porto Cervo<\/strong>. The check-ups will be focusing on the prevention of\u00a0<strong>breast tumours, strokes, melanomas, cardiovascular problems and hypertension, diabetes, obesity and prostate cancer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Scientific reports have now demonstrated that suitable prevention can reduce the emergence of illnesses and the death rate, and therefore early diagnosis is equally important. There are illnesses and some forms of tumour that can be partially prevented, and studies have confirmed that almost 80% of cardiovascular illnesses and strokes can be avoided if people are prepared to change their lifestyle over time.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSmeralda Holding aims to\u00a0make a contribution\u00a0both in terms of raising awareness of this type of periodic check-up and in providing tangible support\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; said Mario Ferraro, the CEO of Smeralda Holding -.<em>\u00a0The pandemic has made us much more aware of the theme of health and well-being, and consequentially there is increased attention to those forms of behaviour and lifestyle that can have a significant social, economic and environmental effect.
