The valorisation and safeguarding of the land and environmental assets associated with the Costa Smeralda brand have always been fundamental components of Smeralda Holding\u2019s strategic approach. <strong>96%<\/strong> of the consortium area is uncontaminated green land which, together with the range of services provided by the group &#8211; services that increase every year &#8211; represents the true distinctive factor of the tourist destination.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Smeralda Holding group<\/strong> has already been following a process dedicated to sustainability for some time, with the setting up of a series of initiatives aimed at valorising <strong>green areas<\/strong>, as well as the creation of nature trails such as the Pevero Health Trail. The Group has also adopted a plastic-free policy, banning not only plastic straws and bottle, but also cutlery, plates and cups, substituting them with biodegradable materials, and has set in motion a number of initiatives aimed at local communities. The <strong>partnership with the SDA Bocconi<\/strong> is an evolution of the values that have always been at the heart of the Costa Smeralda and will be aimed at the development of further strategies to strengthen the Group\u2019s commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the structures owned by the Smeralda Holding group, from the hotels to restaurants and bars, as well as the Marina and Golf Club, will all be involved in a programme studied by the SDA Bocconi, which will aim to reduce all forms of environmental impact through actions and practices regarding the strategic management of refuse, water, energy and mobility, which will be totally electric by 2026. This approach will also be applied to technological systems, with the aim to further reduce emissions.
